The British progressive rock supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer was a huge success in the 1970s, selling more than 40 million albums and playing major stadiums. The group consisted of Keith Emerson (keyboards), Greg Lake (bass, vocals and guitar) and Carl Palmer (drums/percussion), whose goal from the beginning was to combine classic songs with rock music.
