Electronic music is music that uses electronic musical instruments, digital instruments or circuit-based music technology to create it. It includes music produced using both electronic and electromechanical means (electroacoustic music). Purely electronic instruments have depended entirely on circuit-based sound generation, for example, using devices such as an electronic oscillator, theremin or synthesizer. Electromechanical instruments may have mechanical components such as strings, hammers, and electrical elements, including magnetic pickups, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers.
