The album "In Rock" is still considered one of the first heavy metal albums and a turning point in Deep Purple's stylistic development. On it, the band cemented their signature sound, which was characterized in particular by Gillan's vocals and Blackmore's signature heavy riff guitar playing. It is also the album with which Deep Purple broke through on the international scene. In Germany, the album even reached number one on the sales chart. The most famous singles were "Child in Time", which criticized the Vietnam War, and the song "Speed King". Both groups are still considered defining for later rock and metal.
