To mark the anniversary, an expanded 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition will be released in 2018 on three CDs and Blu-ray or six LPs and Blu-ray. "Electric Ladyland" is the third studio album by the American guitarist, composer and singer and his band The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Originally released on October 16, 1968, it remains one of the most important albums in rock history. For the new release, the album has been completely remastered by Bernie Grundman from the original analog tapes. In addition, "Electric Ladyland - 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" contains several "early takes": 20 previously unreleased demos and studio outtakes. Some of these are intimate demos of song ideas that Hendrix himself recorded on tape at the Drake Hotel. Highlights include early recording sessions with guests Buddy Miles, Stephen Stills and Al Kooper. The third CD, or fifth and sixth LPs, contain the concert recording "The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At The Hollywood Bowl 9/14/68," an audio recording of a concert that took place a few weeks before the release of "Electric Ladyland." Last but not least, a 5.1 surround mix of the album and the documentary "At Last... The Beginning. The milestone celebrates 50 years: 'Electric Ladyland - 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition' is the title of the birthday reissue, which is more than worthy.
