Van Halen was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1972. The band's classic lineup consisted of guitarist Eddie Van Halen, vocalist David Lee Roth, drummer Alex Van Halen (Eddie's brother), and bassist Michael Anthony. Van Halen is known for rejuvenating the hard rock scene with their self-titled debut album "Van Halen" released in 1978, which included hits like "Runnin' with the Devil" and the iconic guitar solo "Eruption." They achieved colossal success with their sixth album "1984," which featured classics such as "Jump," "Panama," and "Hot for Teacher." The album showcased Eddie Van Halen's groundbreaking guitar work and Roth's charismatic showmanship. Over the years, the band went through several lineup changes, most notably the replacement of Roth with Sammy Hagar in 1985, which marked a shift in their musical direction.
