Kiss : Dynasty is an album released in 1979 by the rock band Kiss.It is the band's ninth studio album and the first to feature guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss since their departure in 1977. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA on November 14, 1979. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. It was produced by Kiss and Vini Poncia. The album was released on October 22, 1979 by Casablanca Records. The album contains the singles "I Was Made for Lovin' You" and "Sure Know Something". The song "I Was Made for Lovin' You" became a big hit and reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album was well received by music critics. AllMusic reviewer Stephen Thomas Erlewine awarded the album four stars out of five, calling it "an energetic, hook-laden hard rock album". Dynasty is considered to be one of Kiss' strongest albums. It was ranked 25th on VH1's "40 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time".
