Rush The band's fifth studio album, A Farewell to Kings, was released in 1977 and was the first album to feature drummer Neil Peart. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and mixed at Advision Studios in London. The album A Farewell to Kings became Rush's first gold album in the US and was the band's first album to reach the UK Albums Chart, where it reached number 33. The first single from the album, "Closer to the Heart", reached #34 on the Canadian Singles Chart and #62 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The second single from the album, "Xanadu", charted at number 59 on the Canadian Singles Chart. A Farewell to Kings is a progressive rock album that incorporates elements of hard rock, folk rock and classical music. The album's lyrics were written by Peart and relate to the Arthurian legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The album cover was designed by Hugh Syme and features a medieval castle. The album A Farewell to Kings was well received by music critics. AllMusic reviewer Greg Prato gave the album four and a half stars out of a possible five and praised the album
