Yes probably released their best albums in the seventies. It is certainly undeniable that "Fragile", "Tales From Topographic Oceans" and "Close to the Edge" are among the best the band has produced. Originally released in 1972, "Close to the Edge" consists of three tracks, the first of which is a good twenty minutes long and the other two around ten. By borrowing heavily from classical music, especially the sonata form, the band manages to create music that, while complex, is impossible to get out of your head after a few listens. One of the great classics of the progressive genre (ProgRock for short), that's for sure.
