Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi is not only a minimalist, but also a master of atmosphere. Calm and melancholic melodies with strong tones and delicate harmonies are slowly and surely spreading all over the world. In Italy and the UK, the former student Ludovico Einaudi is a frequent guest on the charts, in the rest of the world at least his award-winning soundtracks are known. On the album "Divenire", whose title translates as "Becoming", the Turin-based composer brings together the worlds of classical orchestral music, minimal pop and modern electronica. Alongside the Royal Liverpool Orchestra under the direction of American Robert Ziegler (whose talents have also been invoked by David Gilmour and Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood), with his own strings and in collaboration with solo cellist Marco Decimo, Einaudi transcends his previous musical experience in the twelve passionate pieces of Divenire. In fact, here he combines his cinematic, African, pop and avant-garde influences to create a new sound that is very much his own and exciting in all its looseness.
