He has written melodies for famous film classics such as The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more. In 2017, Zimmer presented a selection of his best works in "The Classics" edition. Instead of collecting them on one album, he has rededicated himself to the songs, re-arranged them and re-recorded them with the help of top musicians from the fields of classical music, pop and jazz. Guests on "The Classics" include Chinese piano star Lang Lang, American crossover violinist Lindsey Stirling, British singer-songwriter Leona Lewis, Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili and many more. In "The Classics", they perform themes and songs from "The Dark Knight Rises", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Gladiator", "Crimson Tide", "Inception", "The Lion King", "Man of Steel", "The Thin Red Line" and "Interstellar".
