Eddie Van Halen, however, contributed a famous solo to the song "Beat It". Not much to say about "1984", typical Van Halen. There are no failures, but plenty of interesting things. Party, life is a wild, never-ending party. That's the message of this hard rock record, which frontman David Lee Roth translates into Hollywood style as the womanizer of "California Girls". There's a macho attitude on this record. The gender play is fun, it creates life. Timeless classics, from the first sounds of a synthesizer to the last chord of a guitar or a snare drum, there's just enough of everything on this record.
