Skupinu BLUES BROTHERS, jejíž správný název byl THE BLUES BROTHERS SHOW BAND AND REVUE, vytvořili komici Dan Aykroyd a John Belushi jako komediální poctu R&B a původně se jednalo o skeč v americké show Saturday Night Live.

Belushi ("Joliet Jake") a Aykroyd jako "Elwood Blues" vedli skupinu známých hudebníků.

Krátce po prvních třech představeních se kapela stala hitem i mimo televizi a vydala album "Briefcase Full Of Blues", aby ji pak Hollywood poctil v kultovní klasice "The Blues Brothers".
