Currents is the third studio album by Australian psychedelic band Tame Impala , released on 17 July 2015 by Modular Recordings. The album was written, recorded, produced and mixed by Kevin Parker. The album was preceded by the release of the singles "Let It Happen" and "Cause I'm a Man". Upon its release, Currents was met with acclaim from music critics who praised its sonic diversity and Kevin Parker's songwriting and production. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The album Currents debuted at number one on the Australian album chart and the US Billboard 200. In both countries, it became the band's first number one album. The album went platinum in Australia and gold in the United States.
