The album was originally released on October 30, 1971 and is generally considered to be Pink Floyd's musical evolution from psychedelic rock to art rock. The songs were written mainly in collaboration with Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. Meddle" was recorded between January and August 1971 at Air Studios, Abbey Road Studios and Morgan Studios.
