This time, however, the basis was not his own songs, but those of a legend. For his new album, the pianist took none other than Miles Davis as his model. Glasper's goal, however, was not to create an album of cover versions as faithful to the original as possible, but rather a cross-genre collection of entirely new interpretations. To do this, Robert Glasper has enlisted the support of musicians, singers and rappers for whom he himself has been a great inspiration Miles Davis. Contributors to Everything's Beautiful include soul icon Stevie Wonder, guitar virtuoso John Scofield, Bilal, Illa J, Erykah Badu, Phonte, Hiatus Kaiyote, Laura Mvula, King and Ann Muldrow. Glasper and his guests recorded eleven songs together for the album Everything's Beautiful. The pianist produced the album himself. Robert Glasper has revolutionized jazz with his distinctive approach on several occasions. On his new album "Everything's Beautiful" he has done it again and brought the music of Miles Davis into the 21st century.
