Plastic Beach is the third studio album by the British virtual band Gorillaz.It was released on 3 March 2010 by Parlophone and Virgin Records. The album was produced by Gorillaz , Damon Albarn and Danger Mouse. It was recorded in London, England and the Ivory Coast. Plastic Beach debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and number one on the US Billboard 200. It sold 114,000 copies in the United States in its first week. The album was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry Association and the Recording Industry Association of America. The album received universally positive reviews from music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a standard rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 73, indicating a "generally favorable rating". Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called it "a dense, dizzying and delightfully perverse album", while Alexis Petridis of The Guardian wrote that it "sounds like nothing else in 2010 - or, for that matter, ever". The album spawned four singles, "Stylo", "On Melancholy Hill", "Doncam", "Thank You" and "Thank You".
