Deep Purple shaped many young people in the 70s and are - yes, you can say it out loud - legendary. With more than 100 million albums sold worldwide and hits that have burned themselves into the collective memory, they speak for themselves. earMUSIC is now releasing an exclusive ten-volume series of reissues before the long-awaited new Deep Purple album is finally released in 2013. The ten rarities will be released successively in an exclusive digipack with new packaging. The reissue series begins in 1975. As part of the Stormbringer tour, Deep Purple also performed in Paris. But this show is more than just a simple concert, it is a historic musical moment: in the same year, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore left the band to form the successful rock band Rainbow. But on that night in Paris, the band made nothing of themselves. David Coverdale (vocals), Glenn Hughes (bass guitar), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Jon Lord (organ) and Ian Paice (drums) played with an enthusiasm and energy that had rarely been seen before. You can really hear the band's joy in playing on the 2 CDs. Extensive drum and guitar solos, artfully surprising improvisations, all can be found on the live recordings. Even the introductions and announcements are not omitted in this unedited version. The band plays "Burn," "Stormbringer" and "Lady Double Dealer" with full force, while "Mistreated" is heard in a pleasantly slow blues version. The concert culminates with Deep Purple's biggest hit "Smoke On The Water" and then segues into an extended jam of "You Fool No One", "Space Truckin'" and "Going Down/Highway Star".
