AOI Records is De La Soul's personal record label created by band member Maseo. The label's name is based off the 'Art Official Intelligence' (AOI) series of albums by De La Soul. De La Soul has released very few items with the record label on them. Only the release "Shoomp / Much More" has an official AOI Records catalog number; "AOI8001". It is unknown why it is marked as their 8,001st release, as it is the label's first. AOI Records is a subsidiary of Black Smith Management.
