Steve Marcus

Steve Marcus

Jazz Saxophonist

Steve Marcus was an American jazz saxophonist who was born on September 18, 1939, and passed away on September 25, 2005. He was known for his involvement in the jazz-rock fusion movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Marcus played with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Stan Kenton and Buddy Rich. In the late 1960s, he became a member of the pioneering fusion group led by vibraphonist Gary Burton before forming his own band, The Count's Rock Band, which blended rock and jazz elements.
