Matteo Manuguerra

Matteo Manuguerra

Italian Baritone Opera Singer

Matteo Manuguerra (1924–1998) was a Tunisian-born baritone who became a prominent opera singer, particularly known for his performances in the Italian repertoire. He made his professional debut in 1952 and went on to have a successful international career. Manuguerra was especially acclaimed for his interpretations of Verdi roles, and he performed at many of the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, and the Royal Opera House in London. His voice was noted for its power, richness, and flexibility, which allowed him to excel in both lyrical and dramatic roles. While he may have performed in productions of "La Traviata" and "Werther," specific albums by those titles are not the primary focus of his recognized legacy. Instead, Manuguerra is remembered for his extensive contributions to live opera performances and recordings throughout his career.
