Bob Marley & The Wailers were a Jamaican reggae band that achieved international fame and acclaim, with Bob Marley himself becoming the most widely known and revered performer of reggae music. Marley's career was marked by blending mostly reggae, ska, and rocksteady in his compositions. Formed in 1963 under the name The Wailers, the group originally consisted of Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Peter Tosh, before disbanding in 1974. After the Wailers disbanded, Marley pursued a solo career that culminated in the release of the album "Exodus" in 1977, which established his worldwide reputation and elevated his status as one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, with sales of more than 75 million records.
