This year, ZZ TOP celebrates 50 years of beards, blues, hot sleds and churning guitars with a new Texas-format compilation: 50 songs that helped the "good old Texas band" become a 21st century Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame fixture. Released by Warner Bros. Records is releasing the Goin' 50 compilation in a 3-CD and 5-LP 180-gram box set and a scaled-down version on a single CD with 18 tracks. Packed with hits that would fill a jukebox in a highway pub, Goin' 50 spans the band's entire musical career, from their 1969 debut to their multi-platinum 1980s album to their most recent recordings. The new retrospective features a cross-section of all 15 studio albums that guitarist Billy Gibbons, drummer Frank Beard and bassist Dusty Hill have recorded since 1970. Two bonus tracks, Salt Lick and Miller's Farm (the B-side single), were recorded in 1969 by the original ZZ TOP lineup.
