"Yes" from 1969 is considered one of the first prog rock albums. The original line-up of vocalist Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford was retained during the recording of the album. At a time when psychedelic wanderings were the order of the day, Yes delivered a surprisingly rigorous and exciting album that sonically ranged on many levels. The album starts off with the boldness and power of a metal band of the time, kicking off with full energy on "Beyond And Before," but it's not until the second track, a cover of the Byrds' "I See You," that the true scope of this band is revealed. The highlight of the song is a very special jazz performance by guitarist Peter Banks and Bill Bruford.
