Whitesnake's eighth album became their third platinum album in a row: Slip Of The Tongue. The album was released in November 1989 and reached the Top 10 in the UK and the US and the Top 20 in Germany thanks to the two hit singles Fool For Your Loving and The Deeper The Love. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of this fan favourite! After going eight times platinum the year before for their 1987 album ("Whitesnake" in Canada and the US), Whitesnake returned two years later with Slip Of The Tongue. The band now consisted of Coverdale, bassist Rudy Sarzo, drummer Tommy Aldridge and guitarists Adrian Vandenberg and Steve Vai. All but one of the songs were written by Coverdale and Vandenberg, with Vandenberg unable to record them himself in the studio due to a hand injury. Vai joined the band for the recording sessions and subsequent tour to fill the gap. Slip Of The Tongue: 30th Anniversary Edition contains previously unreleased versions of all the tracks from the album, as well as Monitor mixes recorded for the album in 1989. In addition, the set features the debut album Slip Of The Tongue: The Wagging Tongue Edition, which was released exclusively on vinyl in 1989. Here, Coverdale comments on every track on the album, with each passage followed by an interview.
