Various: Too Slow To Disco 3 version on CD in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in Germany in publishing company How Do You Are? on 30. June 2017.
Product information Too Slow To Disco Volume 3 - it's the sun in a bottle! A bunch of beautiful songs that may not have made the charts, but can still break your heart! Introducing Too Slow to Disco - Volume 3. Another incredible collection of songs that shine with the high gloss production of a major studio with a bigger budget. Volume 3 is another excursion into those late 70s West Coast disillusions, certainly... but in the company of songs that are also brimming with soul, wit and passion. Killer tunes written and played by virtuoso instrumentalists, back-up singers and guys who were often Grammy winners themselves. All the elements that made Too Slow to Disco Volumes 1 and 2 (and "The Ladies" Edition) so popular with people from New York to London to Barcelona to Bottrop are back for another round of near-danceable exuberance. This smooth wave continues to ripple around today's music world. You'll have found us winking with glee when we read that the jazz bassist to the stars Thundercat recently released a new single with Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald, and even dedicated his entire new album to the West Coast. And it seems The XX can't escape the lure of Hall & Oates on their new single "On Hold" either. For their second single "Say Something Lovin'" they even sampled one of the tracks from TSTD Vol 1, namely Do You Feel It by the Alessi Brothers. As always, DJ Supermarket has somehow unearthed another box of obscure gems, sticking to his usual concept: all killer, no filler, chosen and arranged to evoke the mood of the time. Lyrically, the emphasis remains on slightly difficult love affairs backed by grooves subtle enough to mix cocktails to. Slow dancing is encouraged, fast dancing... well, you know our thoughts on that. We've got a random crossover pop hit from the no-more-fusion jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour. And some Christian funk from Archie Cavanaugh and his ensemble. There's even the bizarrely funky and commercial-sounding Grateful Dead laying down a chart-topping beat for "Shakedown Street" (we assume the A+R guy had a gun... true story: it took DJ Supermarket about four years to nail it, the track should have appeared on Vol. 1. Now we have official approval from the band!"). Elsewhere, Steely Dan saxophonist Cornelius Bumpus appears with a bit of edgy funk, while Larry Carlton (another Don and Walter collaborator) is featured on "Where did you come from?" ...kicks off a guitar-soaked white soul. And this time we looked beyond L.A. and discovered some exotic representatives of the West Coast sound from further afield. Our first non-English track from TSTD comes in the form of Dwight Druick, the legendary Canadian singer-songwriter who brings a fine slice of Montreal disco-funk. Then we have the groovesome Stars'n'Bars from Sweden (in their first ever official reissue), and even two UK artists with Vapour Trails and the amazing Billy Mernit, with a breezy flashlight song we've been desperately chasing for years.
Album spans genres Rock, Pop, Disco and Soft Rock.
The albums "Dirty Dancing ," "Pulp Fiction ," and "Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 " are not attributed to a single artist, composer, or band named Various. Instead, the term "Various Artists" is used in the music industry to denote compilation albums that feature track...
