Rok po vysoce ceněném "Waiting For Miracles", které vyšlo v roce 2019, jsou The Flower Kings v čele s Roine Stoltem (Transatlantic, The Sea Within, Anderson/Stolt atd.) již zpět s dalším albem, a to kvůli koruně, jak vysvětluje Stolt: "Všechny koncerty a festivaly byly zrušeny, stejně jako u nespočtu umělců, ale líné vysedávání pro nás nepřipadalo v úvahu, žádný virus nás nezastaví! Jelikož máme členy ve Švédsku, Itálii, USA a Rakousku, využili jsme kouzla internetu a vytvořili toto dvojalbum o 21 písních." To je s hrací dobou 93 minut a formátem trojité LP ještě opulentnější než jeho předchůdce.

Po hudební stránce zůstali The Flower Kings věrni sami sobě a na "Islands" jsou ještě hravější a komplexnější než na předchůdci a potěší posluchače detailním, organickým zvukem.
