The Doors released their third album Waiting for the Sun in 1968. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one in the United States and selling over four million copies. The album's lead single, "Hello, I Love You", reached number one in the United States and the album's second single, "Light My Fire", reached number one in the United States and the United Kingdom. The album's title track, "Waiting for the Sun", was released as a single in 1969 and reached number twenty-one in the United States. The album was well received by critics and ranked seventy-sixth on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
