It all started with this album in 1979, THE CURE first entered the wider consciousness and immediately managed to surprise with a cover concept (only three household appliances on the front cover, hard to follow name information) that got them some press. Still in a phase of stylistic discovery, Three Imaginary Boys stands at the intersection of 70s punk and 80s new wave. With the title track Three Imaginary Boys, however, Robert Smith and his people clearly show where the path should be taken, and as is well known, they set out on it with subsequent albums Seventeen Seconds and Faith. Classics of modern music history.
