A great piece of R.E.M. history Great news for all R.E.M. fans: the rock icons are releasing "The Best Of R.E.M. At The BBC" in 2018, a collection of rare and previously unreleased live and studio recordings from the BBC and the band's archives. The double CD or double LP disc brings together recordings from over 20 years. In addition, "The Best Of R.E.M. At The BBC" is also available in a giant super deluxe edition. It contains eight CDs and a DVD. Highlights include R.E.M.'s appearance at the John Peel sessions, their headline performance at Glastonbury in 1999, their appearance on the "Radio 1 Live Lounge" in 2008 and many more. The DVD that completes the set begins with the 60-minute documentary "Accelerating Backwards" (previously broadcast in the UK but never commercially available), which features interviews with Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe.
