In August 1970, Jimi Hendrix gave one of his greatest live performances at the Isle Of Wight Festival in front of 600,000 people. Oscar-winning experimental and documentary filmmaker Murray Lerner immortalised this performance in a legendary music film, now re-released on DVD in an extended version by the Experience Hendrix Foundation. The DVD is more than 180 minutes long and is particularly impressive thanks to the "feature" section, which allows the viewer to experience the festival concert from completely new perspectives. Jimi Hendrix At The Isle Of Wight also includes a recently discovered live version of "Hey Joe", the song that launched his meteoric rise to stardom four years earlier.
