Death's second album "Leprosy" is one of the milestones of the death metal genre! This reissue deals with Death's second album from 1988. This masterpiece combines the thrash sound of Metallica and Slayer, but adds a previously unseen raw extremity that is incredibly brutal and straightforward. These eight tracks form the roots of an entire genre: death metal. And although this was only the second Death album, it immediately cemented Chuck Schuldiner's band's exceptional position in the entire heavy metal scene. For the recording of "Leprosy", band leader Schuldiner changed the complete line-up, the songs were more matureSchuldiner's technical, musical skills had clearly improved, and he even dared to play a few very effective solos. The crushing guitar sound in "Scream Bloody Gore" gave way to an overall clearer and darker sound, aided by a much stronger drum kit. The songs have an almost optimal blend of complexity and catchiness. The re-release on Relapse was done with great care, with the entire album and bonus tracks mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Nile, etc.).

Druhé album Death "Leprosy" je jedním z milníků death metalového žánru!

Tato reedice se zabývá druhým albem Death z roku 1988, mistrovským dílem, které kombinuje thrashový zvuk Metallicy a Slayer, ale doplňuje je o nebývalou syrovost a extrémnost, která je neuvěřitelně brutální a přímočará. Osm skladeb tvoří kořeny celého žánru: death metal. A přestože šlo teprve o druhé album Death, okamžitě upevnilo výjimečné postavení kapely Chucka Schuldinera na celé heavymetalové scéně.

Lídr kapely Schuldiner pro nahrávání "Leprosy" vyměnil celou sestavu, skladby byly vyzrálejší, Schuldinerovy technické a hudební dovednosti se výrazně zlepšily a dokonce se odvážil i k několika málo, ale velmi účinným sólům. Drtivý zvuk kytary na "Scream Bloody Gore" ustoupil celkově průzračnějšímu, temnějšímu zvuku, k čemuž přispěla i mnohem mohutnější bicí souprava. Skladby mají téměř optimální směs složitosti a chytlavosti.

Reedice u Relapse vznikla s velkou pečlivostí, celé album i bonusové skladby masteroval Alan Douches (Mastodon, Nile atd.).

2CD deluxe verze obsahuje 50 minut dříve nevydaných demosnímků, které doprovází 24stránkový booklet s dosud nezveřejněnými fotografiemi kapely. Ian Christe (Sirius / XM) a Jeremy Wagner (Broken Hope) navíc napsali zcela nové poznámky k desce. Edice Black Vinyl Edition nabízí remasterované základní album s kartou ke stažení veškeré hudby včetně 50minutových demosnímků.
