Norwegians have been on the market for 30 (!) years. Darkthrone has become an integral part of black metal and has always helped shape the genre. Darkthrone first made a name for themselves in their formative years with a gritty mix of thrash and death/doom metal, releasing their debut album "Soulside Journey" in 1991. Darkthrone never stood still and followed no conventions. Their second album "A Blaze In The Northern Sky" revealed a much darker and more primitive side to their sound and the rest is history... Now the long-running duo of Fenriz and Nocturno Culto return with their first studio album since 2016's "Arctic Thunder" in the form of "Old Star". Six epic tracks of old school black metal with a dose of doom riffs shows who the kings of the underground are. Production was once again handled by Nocturno Culto, while Sanford Parker (Voivod) took care of the mixing.
