Borknagar is the first studio album by the Norwegian black metal band of the same name, formed in 1995. It is their only album with lyrics in Norwegian. All songs are written by Øystein Garnes Brun, the band's founder. Norwegian avant-garde black metal innovators Borknagar are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album. On "Borknagar", guitarist Øystein G. Brun with like-minded musicians from Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Arcturus, Immortal and Ulver to push the boundaries of what was then considered "traditional" black metal.
