Irish folk metal band

Primordial is an Irish extreme metal band formed in Skerries in 1987 by Pól MacAmlaigh (bass) and Ciarán MacUiliam (guitars). Their music blends elements of black metal, doom metal, and Celtic folk, creating a distinctive and emotive sound. The band's lyrics often draw upon themes of history, mythology, and existential struggles. Primordial's lineup solidified with the addition of vocalist Alan "Nemtheanga" Averill and drummer Simon O'Laoghaire. Over the years, they have become known for their powerful live performances and have built a loyal fan base through their intense musical output and consistent touring.
