Cigarettes After Sex is an American dream pop band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 2008. The band consists of Greg Gonzalez (vocals, guitar), Randy Miller (bass), Jacob Tomsky (drums) and Phillip Tubbs (guitar, keyboards). The band released their self-titled debut album Cigarettes After Sex on June 9, 2017 . The album was recorded over the course of two years in the band's hometown of El Paso, Texas. Gonzalez wrote the songs between 2012 and 2016. The album was well received by music critics. On Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 83, which means "universal acclaim", based on 16 reviews. Tim Sendra of AllMusic gave the album 4.5 stars out of five, writing: "The album is very good: " Cigarettes After Sex is an album that feels like a secret whispered in your ear by a lover who wants you all to himself.
