Everything that is called doom or stoner metal today probably started here. Guitarist Tommi Iommi tunes his guitar to make it easier to play. Three semitones down, he finds a "more massive and heavier sound" and forces bassist Geezer Butler to do the same. The result resonates with generations of musicians - whether it's Nirvana, Soundgarden or Smashing Pumpkins, they all claim this milestone. Ozzy Osbourne pretends that he "doesn't remember anything" due to the fog in the studio, but also notes that "Children Of The Grave" is arguably the best "kickass song ever written". The audience thanks them with double platinum.
