Vol. 4 is the fourth studio album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, originally released in September 1972. It was the first Black Sabbath album not produced by Rodger Bain; guitarist Tony Iommi took over production. It reached gold status in less than a month and was the group's fourth consecutive album to sell a million copies in the US. The album, which featured classic tracks such as "Supernaut", "Changes" and "Snowblind", capitalised on the band's growing popularity and reached the Top 10 album charts in the UK and the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 in the US, and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
