The group consists of Romy Madley Croft (guitar, vocals), Oliver Sim (bass, vocals), and Jamie Smith, also known as Jamie xx (beats, MPC, record production). They first gained recognition for their distinctive style that blends minimalistic indie rock, electronic music, and R&B influences. Their debut album "xx," released in 2009, was met with critical acclaim and won the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2010. Following the success of their first album, The xx released "Coexist" in 2012 and "I See You" in 2017.
