Scorpions are a German rock band formed in 1965 in Hanover by Rudolf Schenker. They are known for their melodic heavy metal, hard rock, and power ballads, and they have become one of the most iconic bands in the genre with a career spanning over half a century. The band's lineup has changed over the years, but Klaus Meine has been the lead vocalist for most of its history, with Rudolf Schenker on rhythm guitar and Matthias Jabs on lead guitar since 1978. Scorpions gained international fame in the 1980s with albums like "Blackout" (1982), "Love at First Sting" (1984), which included hits like "Rock You Like a Hurricane," and "Still Loving You." Their live performances were captured in the album "World Wide Live" (1985), which further solidified their status as a premier live act. Over the years, Scorpions have released numerous albums and are known for their longevity and consistent presence in the rock music scene. They have received several awards for their work, including World Music Awards and have been inducted into the Hall of Heavy Metal History. With millions of records sold worldwide, they remain one of Germany's most successful rock bands.
