Willis Earl Beal is an American musician and artist known for his distinctive blend of blues, soul, and lo-fi music. Emerging from a period of personal struggle and a transient lifestyle, Beal gained attention after leaving CD-Rs of his music and hand-drawn flyers around his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. His raw, expressive style caught the eye of the independent label XL Recordings, which released his debut album "Acousmatic Sorcery" in 2012. The album showcased Beal's eclectic talent, featuring a collection of songs recorded on rudimentary equipment that highlighted his powerful voice and storytelling abilities.
