The Marmalade

The Marmalade

Scottish Pop Rock Group

The Marmalade was a Scottish pop rock band that found fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Originally formed in 1961 as The Gaylords, they changed their name to The Marmalade in 1966. The band is best known for their hit cover of The Beatles' song "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in January 1969. Their success continued with several other hits, including "Reflections of My Life," which has sold over two million copies worldwide and is remembered for its classic guitar solo and melancholic lyrics. The Marmalade's sound was characterized by strong vocal harmonies and catchy melodies, which helped them to stand out during a competitive era for pop music. Over the years, the band underwent numerous lineup changes, and while they never replicated the heights of their early success, they continued to perform and record for a dedicated fan base.
