The Blackout

The Blackout was a post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, formed in 2003. The band consisted of Sean Smith and Gavin Butler on vocals, James Davies on guitar and backing vocals, Matthew Davies on guitar, Rhys Lewis on bass, and Gareth Lawrence on drums. They were known for their energetic live performances and their blend of post-hardcore and alternative rock music. The Blackout released their debut album, "We Are the Dynamite," in 2007, which was followed by "The Best in Town" in 2009. They continued to build their reputation with subsequent albums such as "Hope" in 2011 and "Start The Party" in 2013. Despite a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim within the rock community, the band announced their split in 2015 after struggling with financial difficulties and the changing landscape of the music industry.
