New Grass Revival was an influential American progressive bluegrass band that formed in 1971 and continued to perform until 1989. The group was known for pushing the boundaries of traditional bluegrass music by incorporating elements of rock, jazz, and blues into their sound. The band's lineup changed several times over the years, but the most well-known iteration included Sam Bush (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and vocals), John Cowan (bass and vocals), Béla Fleck (banjo), and Pat Flynn (guitar and vocals). They were particularly noted for their skilled musicianship and innovative approach to bluegrass, which earned them a dedicated following. Throughout their career, New Grass Revival released numerous albums that showcased their eclectic style and musical virtuosity.
