Morton Subotnick is an innovative American composer and electronic music pioneer, born on April 14, 1933. He is widely recognized for his work in the development of electronic music and is considered one of the key figures in this genre. Subotnick gained fame with his groundbreaking album "Silver Apples of the Moon" in 1967, which was one of the first electronic works commissioned by a record company, Nonesuch Records. This album, along with "The Wild Bull" released in 1968, helped to establish the use of electronic music in a format that was accessible to the general public.
