Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band formed in Mesa, Arizona, in 1993. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch, and drummer Zach Lind. They are known for their alternative rock style, which also incorporates elements of pop punk and emo. Jimmy Eat World gained significant commercial success with the release of their 2001 album "Bleed American," which was later re-released as "Jimmy Eat World" following the events of September 11th. The album featured the hit single "The Middle," which became a top-five Billboard Hot 100 hit.
