James LaBrie

Canadian Progressive Metal Vocalist

James LaBrie is best known as the lead vocalist for the progressive metal band Dream Theater, which he joined in 1991. Born Kevin James LaBrie on May 5, 1963, in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada, he has been a defining element of the band's sound with his powerful and dynamic vocal range. In addition to his work with Dream Theater, LaBrie has pursued a solo career, releasing several albums under his own name. Among these are "Elements of Persuasion" (2005), "Static Impulse" (2010), and "Impermanent Resonance" (2013). His solo work often explores different musical territories while still retaining elements of the progressive metal genre for which he is known.
