George Thorogood

George Thorogood

Delaware-born blues-rock guitarist and singer

George Thorogood is an American musician, singer, and songwriter known for his high-energy blues-rock. Born on February 24, 1950, in Wilmington, Delaware, Thorogood began his career in the early 1970s and quickly established himself with his band, the Delaware Destroyers, later known simply as George Thorogood & The Destroyers. His music is characterized by a hard-driving boogie-blues style and he is perhaps best known for hits like "Bad to the Bone" and his covers of blues standards such as Hank Williams' "Move It On Over" and John Lee Hooker's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer." Thorogood's work has contributed to the popularization of blues rock and has influenced many other artists in the genre. Over the years, he has released a number of albums with The Destroyers and has built a reputation for energetic live performances.
