Brix & The Extricated

British post-punk band

Brix & The Extricated is a band formed by ex-members of the influential post-punk group The Fall. The band was founded by Brix Smith Start, who was a guitarist and songwriter for The Fall during two periods in the 1980s and 1990s, and later became known for her work in fashion and television. She reunited with former Fall members Steve Hanley (bass guitar) and his brother Paul Hanley (drums), both of whom were integral to the sound of The Fall during their tenure. Brix & The Extricated came together initially to perform classic material from their time in The Fall but soon began writing new music, which led to the release of their debut album "Part 2" in 2017. They followed up with "Breaking State" in 2018 and "Super Blood Wolf Moon" in 2019, showcasing a blend of post-punk energy with melodic hooks, continuing the legacy of their previous band while forging a new path with their original material.
