Various: Stockfisch Records Vinyl Collection 3 LTD version on vinyl LP in limited edition. This particular edition was published in Germany in publishing company Stockfisch Records on 17. March 2017.
For the third edition of our Stockfisch vinyl collection, we have selected titles from our current programme that are particularly suitable for playing from phonograph records: the 10 tracks on Volume 3 are characterised by deep, calm and transparent colours. They include old standbys like Allan Taylor or Steve Strauss, but also new discoveries by Günter Pauler for Stockfisch, such as Carrie Newcomer from Indiana, Kerstin Blodig from Norway or the Anglo-Irish group Ranagri. Stockfisch is particularly pleased that the famous American singer Carrie Newcomer could be honored for a singer-songwriter album. Her dark sympathetic voice and soulful songs will captivate the listener. Norwegian singer-songwriter Kerstin Blodig also makes her debut on Stockfisch. The recording took place in a summer clearing in one of the largest closed forest areas in Germany - Solling. The natural atmosphere with birds singing and forest sounds fits perfectly with Kerstin's Norwegian songs and her guitar playing. Four musicians from London: one plays traditional Irish music, two are classically trained and one is a blues singer and guitarist - all united by a passion for folk music. This quartet form the band Ranagri, which sounds like a rare place of unspoilt beauty - the Irish village of Ranagri, which gave the four musicians their name. Allan Taylor is represented by a very introspective song from his latest album All Is One. A third production featuring New Yorker Steve Strauss makes an appearance, and Stockfisch stars David Munyon and Paul O'Brien don't miss excerpts from their current albums.
