Two epic tracks from the album recording, which did not make it to CD due to lack of space, are released here only on vinyl. Guitarist and composer Terje Rypdal (1947) is probably the closest to becoming a living legend of Norwegian music. He has won numerous awards, including three Norwegian Grammys (Spellemannpris), including an honorary award in 2005. "Sky Music" is a tribute to an inspiring artist and a unique guitarist who has not always received the recognition he deserved in the past 50 years. Initiated by experimental American guitarist and Rypdal's lifelong fan Henry Kaiser, Rune Grammofon formed a stellar band with keyboardist and Rypdal's longtime sidekick Ståle Storlokken (Elephant9, Supersilent), bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (Scorch Trio, The Thing), drummer Gard Nilssen (Bushman's Revenge), guitarist Even H. Hermansen and Hedvig Mollestad, Finnish guitarist Raoul Björkenheim and Swedish guitarist Reine Fiske (Dungen). Kaiser himself played and produced, Hans Magnus Ryan (Motorpsycho) added bits and pieces and Jim O'Rourke contributed his Tokyo song "Sunrise". Bill Frisell, Nels Cline and David Torn performed their own solo interpretations. Cline was assisted by cellist Erik Friedlander.
